The City of Olean Public Works Department has set up its leaf collection schedule, and will begin picking up leaves the week of October 26. LEAVES ARE NOT TO BE RAKED OR BLOWN INTO THE ROADWAY UNTIL THE WEEKEND OF OCTOBER 24-25. The public should refrain from parking vehicles on streets that are anticipated to have leaves picked up that day. Crews will make one complete pass thru the city, but cannot guarantee a second pass due to weather. The Public Works Department asks you not to put more leaves to the curb after they have passed by. Please make sure not to cover and clog storm drains. The order of collection:
- Areas east of North Union and South Union Street to the Olean Creek and Allegany River
- West Olean, from Union Street to the west City line, south of West Sullivan Street
- The immediate area north of West Sullivan Street, including areas along Wayne Street, Coleman Street and cross streets
- North Olean
- Boardmanville
- South Olean
- East Olean
